Yea, huge question don't you think?
Can we, as artists, loose the need, or envy to create ?
Is it possible that one day we just wake up and....it is gone!
For no apparent reason? Not that we lost some one (all through it may be a reason more to create for some people) or that we are depressed or not motivated.
We loose it, but nothing really explains why, nor can we really see the reason why we lost what was, at a time, so dear and so important so vital to us.
Why does it happen, is it because we replaced it by something els, or because we changed, we got just less sensible of what was around us.
Our society is going in many ways in the wrong direction, we loos contact with nature and reality of life. I heard the other day that there was a scandal in Germany because a TV show showed little kids from where the meat and plants they had in their plate comes from. We have no problems showing them war on TV, people die on live reality shows and the only thing media is doing about it is use it to "shock" the public opinion so that they can sell more and make money.
Critic media is becoming more and more rare to find, the internet is being censured by so called democratic countries and so on and so on.
We as artists and by that I'm only implying a more accurate sense of observation, more sensible individuals and a need to express our selves, to creat, to get what is only blury in our heads out and make it reality.
We, are in this society to, we are not out of it, maybe we are even more in it that other people, and we are getting influenced!
As human conception of beauty changes each day more and more, as WE are showing people more and more of SICK skinny girls on huge wallpaper in the streets. As WE are showing people the so untrue and so wrong side of multynational company. As we are participating in a major way and influencing the world so much. The artistic community, graphic designer, designer illustration, concept designer, photograph, and so many more have so much influence on how and what the world of tomorrow will be, it doesn't seem that every one measures it properly or take in concideration his influence.
Girls are dying in hospitals because of what we created and showed her as the "what you are supposed to be looking like".
Can creation be wrong, should it be controlled by something other than only the artist and his costumer?
What will happened to art, will it evolve with it's time, will it be more critic and involved, will it disappear as we won't need it any more as we all slowly drown in a society who does just don't care about feelings and individuals?
